John Dalton
Atomic Theory of Matter
In 1803, Dalton released his theory. It said that:
1) Atoms are unbreakable, hard, solid spheres
2) All matter and elements are made up of atoms
3) An atom of an element has unique characteristics
His model (shown at left) was basically the same as Democritus'.
