Erwin Schrodinger
Erwin Schrodinger was an Austrian scientist who disagreed with Bohr's model. Schrodinger proposed that you could describe the movement of an electron as a wave. He made an equation to describe electrons as a wave function rather than moving particles.
Well, why should we care? What did this accomplish?
For starters, it explained some of the atom's behaviors that Bohr's model could not. It also had major influence on the creation of the quantum model of the atom. His theory that the only way to locate electrons was to calculate the probability that they were a certain distance from the nucleus changed the way people viewed the atom.
His equation and theories were so revolutionary that they even named a crater on the moon after him!
